"Music & Dance" describes the relationship that song and dance hold with Nicaraguan's cultural identity. Both of those physical expressions are vicariously intertwined into the fabric of Nicaraguan culture, and serve to unite the people in ways of togetherness, attempted social reform, and the very essence of vibrant tradition. Music has long been regarded, and utilized, as the great story teller in Nicaragua, and it most certainly continues today. Music can be used in a variety of ways, and is done well by the people, in light of their international merits for musical pieces and dance numbers. As powerful as political speech, dancing and singing are parts of social protest and have served the people well, especially when protesting the vast unpopular Colonial Rule. Of course dancing is also widely embraced at special events, such as weddings or birthday parties as well, though it is usually not the commonplace new style sort of dancing, but rather a traditional dance.
I think that dancing and singing are some of the most pure ways in which a people can express themselves, largely in part because that can never be stricken from them. Disregard any potential harm that might have forsaken the Nicaraguan people, I am sure that they would continue to flourish in their culture through the use of singing and dancing. It's fascinating to me that a culture can communicate through singing songs as well as anyone else, while remaining so artfully in sync and I believe that is another reason it is so helpfully vibrant. I like how those two actions are the denominating factor between almost anyone living in Nicaragua. It gives almost a universal language, especially to those who are mute or physically paralyzed.
This article ties into the culture of Nicaragua because it the closest thing to culture itself. These arts of expression have been present in Nicaragua almost since it was established, and thus have a very long standing relationship within its people, because of its longevity. Dancing unites people together and gives everyone common ground with which to associate with one another, nearly instantly establishing connection between people. Singing and dancing are important to Nicaragua because regardless of how advanced we, as humans, get, singing and dancing will still be one of the most universally accepted, widely used, and most common thing that they all share.
